Loving our uni and serving students in the name of Jesus

Members

We want to welcome you to the University of Portsmouth Christian Union! We love meeting new students and hope that you feel welcome and comfortable to come along to our freshers' events, Monday meetings and events throughout the year! We exist to tell students on campus about Jesus and hold lots of events throughout the year to do this! We welcome students from all denominations to join us in our mission on campus and look forward to welcoming you to Portsmouth!

Adopt-A-Fresher
We know that it can be difficult moving to university to unfamiliar surroundings, but we are here to help you settle into university as much as possible.
To help you settle into uni life, you can sign up to have a ‘big brother’ or ‘big sister’ at CU. This will be an older student in CU who knows what it’s like to be new to university and will most likely have gone through everything you will experience as a fresher. You can meet one to one with them and talk to them about any questions or concerns you may have. They will help you settle in and encourage you in your walk with God while at university. There is no time limit on this, so you can meet with them for as long as you’d like to, whether that's the first few weeks or months of moving to university or the whole duration of your course at university. If you’d like to sign up to have a ‘big brother’ or ‘big sister’ at CU then contact Mollie Morrison.

Looking for a church?
We are committed to helping you find and connect with local churches to attend in your time at university which you can serve and feel part of. The CU is not a church and we do not replace church, church always takes priority. We encourage students to get involved in a Church as soon as they arrive and help freshers to get stuck into the church that they feel God is calling them to. We have church guides available in September with information on churches in Portsmouth including their locations, service times, a bit about them and contact details, as well as some tips from the CU committee on how to choose a church and why you should find a church to attend. Want to know more about the churches before September? Check out http://studentlinkup.org to link up with the churches before you arrive!
